Stranded Dave Matthews hitches ride with fan to the show!
Posted on 15:38 by Unknown
(CNN) -- Emily Kraus was psyched.
She had been a Dave Matthews fan since she was 9. And she was on her way to see him at a show in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
What she didn't count on was finding him stranded by the side of the road with his bicycle.
Dave Matthews makes (and talks) history
To say it was the surprise of her life would be understating it.
The Grammy-winning musician had gone out for a pre-show ride Saturday when the back tire of his bike popped.
"I did not have a cell phone on the bicycle. So I thought, 'Sh*t," he recalled that night at his show at Hersheypark Stadium.
"And then a nice lady named Emily rode up in a red car with a bicycle rack on it and gave me a ride on to the gig."
Conversations with a superstar
Kraus said she and her boyfriend were running late to the show. But, as she told CNN affiliate WHP, everything happens for a reason.
They spotted a man stranded on the side of the road who looked very familiar.
They pulled over.
It was Matthews, his bike broken; he without a cell phone.
Lucky for her, her parents had just recently given her their bike rack. And she offered her idol a ride, to his own concert.
Along the way, they chatted about how the tour was going and his daughter's summer camp schedules.
"We didn't know how to make conversation with him," the star-struck fan laughed.
'Cheeks still hurt from smiling'
Matthews, grateful for the gesture, invited the couple for dinner. Then, backstage. And then, to front row seats to the show.
Oh, and during the concert, Matthews recounted the incident, referring to Emily by name.
"My cheeks still hurt from smiling, giggling and laughing all night long ... this will always be remembered," she wrote on the affiliate's Facebook page.
Sunday morning, Kraus said she woke up, wondering if it was all a dream.
But then she noticed the concert tickets. Matthews had signed them, saying "Thanks for the ride."
"OK, yeah, that really happened yesterday," she said. "It was surreal, we couldn't believe it."

NJ Transit bus driver accused of lewd act of NOT keeping his hands on the wheel. YUCK!
Posted on 18:03 by Unknown
HACKENSACK, N.J. (WABC) -- There is shocking video of a local bus driver on the road and behind the wheel who was engaged in a lewd act and is accused of putting his passengers at risk.
The bus driver for New Jersey Transit is facing criminal charges and was removed from his job.A passenger with a camera caught the driver, 41-year-old George Simpson of Newark, in the middle of Lincoln Tunnel traffic and in the middle of this lewd act.
WARNING: The video and information below on what he was doing is graphic.
"She noticed he was performing a sex act on himself," said Patrick Metz, an attorney.
Attorney Patrick Metz walked Eyewitness News through the cell phone video taken by his client as she commuted to New York City on a New Jersey Transit bus on June 25th.
"She was sitting directly opposite the bus driver in the first row of seats," Metz said.
It was the evening commute and the driver was entering the Lincoln Tunnel with a packed bus.
"She videotaped this why?" Eyewitness News investigative reporter Sarah Wallace asked.
"The outrage, the danger he was putting the other passengers in and the other commuters, it is unspeakable," Metz said, "She's showing the other cars around. As you can see the walls of the tunnel are on the left side. And he's continuing all the way through the tunnel totally exposed."
Metz continued, "Now you can see he reaches for a handiwipe to address the situation."
NJ Transit gave Eyewitness News this statement: "The bus driver in question was immediately removed from service without pay, as a result of this disturbing and grossly irresponsible conduct."
"They say the terminated him," Wallace said.
"We don't know what happened before and we want to make sure it never happens again," Metz said.

Gay Country Singer Adjusts to Newfound Web Fame - GMA interview

Gay Country Singer Adjusts to Newfound Web Fame Steve Grand, 22, maxed out his credit card to produce, star in a popular video.
Gay-Themed Music Video by Steve Grand a YouTube Hit!

Gay-Themed Music Video a YouTube Hit
He's a musician without a record label, a card holder without any remaining credit. And the gig that supplies what he calls "food money" may now be in jeopardy.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — He’s a musician without a record label, a card holder without any remaining credit. And the gig that supplies what he calls “food money” may now be in jeopardy.
But after events of the last week, Steve Grand said “I would die a happy man today,” and not for the reasons he’s suddenly getting attention.
Grand’s first music video, for his country-tinged rock ballad “All-American Boy,” was posted on YouTube last Tuesday. By last night, it had exploded, attracting more than 400,000 total views—nothing for top-charting videos from big-name recording artists, but an impressive figure for one from a complete unknown whose only promotion has been internet buzz.
The video cost just $7,000, a fraction of the major-names’ going rate, but it was a fortune to Grand, who came up with the entire budget himself by maxing out his only plastic to tell the video’s story.
“All-American Boy” portrays a young gay man who misreads signals from an apparently straight “all-American” male friend. On a day hanging out with the gang, the two guys and a girl take off in a car. She drives, as the guys sit together in the back, with the straight man, at one point, falling asleep on the gay man’s shoulder. Feeling like a third wheel, the girl eventually, angrily drives off, leaving the two men to pal around in the woods, where they end up stripping down and going skinny-dipping—even sharing a quick kiss. Ultimately for the straight guy, it was just all in good fun. But for the gay man, it was something much more significant, and he is left dazed, confused and longing.
The story was inspired by one of Grand’s own.
“I was a 13-year-old boy (at camp),” noted the 23-year-old singer-songwriter, speaking by phone from his hometown Chicago. “One of my counselors was warm and strong and he took an interest in me—not sexually, but as a friend, and it really moved me. I remember leaving with a horrible ache in my heart.”
While “All-American Boy” is told from the gay man’s perspective, Grand said he knew its tale of unrequited love would resonate across lines of sexuality. He’s received hundreds of postings on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook from viewers, both straight and gay, saying they understand such rejection and heartache.
“I’m not a crier,” noted Grand. “But since this all began, since people have been reaching out, I’ve been beyond moved, because so many people have felt what I felt, been through what I’ve been through.”
Grand said that upon discovering he was gay in eighth grade, he told friends, which quickly got back to his parents. They insisted he go to so-called “straight therapy,” which he endured for five years. But it didn’t work.
He logged his full freshman year at Belmont University in Nashville, but, due to the costs, returned to Chicago. His recent employment has run the gamut from modeling to supplying music for Catholic church events, the latter being what he called the “food-money” gig.
Grand said he has no idea where the YouTube success may take him, though he does admit he’s “not much of a singer” and more of a songwriter. “Of course, I want to continue to grow as a man and grow as an artist,” he commented.
For now, Grand appears happy just being the moment, immersed in all those postings. “Just the hundreds of people who have said, ‘Your story is my story. Thank you for this,’ is enough for me.”
“Like I said, I would die a happy man today,” Grand continued. “And it’s the first time in my entire life I can say that.”

Woman hires undercover cop as hitman! Caught on video!
Posted on 20:06 by Unknown
Part 1 Part 2
Story by Rob Spahr/NJ.com
MUSKEGON, MI – A former New Jersey woman thought she was hiring a hit man to kill her husband, because she said “it was easier than divorcing him.”
But the man she solicited to off her husband was actually an undercover police officer, according to a report by MLive.com.
In a video of her interaction with the “hit man” – released to MLive by the Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office – Julia Charlene Merfeld, 21, explained why she wanted her husband dead.
“When I first decided to do this … it’s not that we weren’t getting along,” she says on the video. “But … terrible as it sounds, it was easier than divorcing him.
"You know, I didn’t have to worry about the judgment of my family, I didn’t have to worry about breaking his heart, all that stuff like this. It’s, like, how I got a clean getaway.”
Authorities said Merfeld told the fake hit man that he’d be paid $50,000 in installments from the proceeds of her husband’s $400,000 life insurance policy.
The two conversations between Merfeld and the undercover police officer took place on April 9 and 10, during which she clearly and matter-of-factly discusses the murder plan – laughing occasionally, checking the possible dates for the killing on her phone and telling the hit man that she did not want her husband to suffer.
After the supposed hit man tells her he’ll fire two bullets into her husband’s head and that “he’s gonna die,” Merfeld smiles uneasily and says “it makes me sad.”
Carlos Ramos, a coworker of Merfeld’s, told MLive that Merfeld offered him $50,000 to kill her husband. He called police instead.
According to MLive, Merfeld and her husband had recently moved to Muskegon from New Jersey as a result of a job transfer for the husband. The couple has two young children who were staying with relatives in New Jersey at the time of the April meetings.
During her second meeting with the detective, Merfeld shows him a bundle of notes that he had requested, including directions to the home and a floor plan, as well as a photo of her husband.
“That’s him,” she says before handing the officer a $100 bill as a down payment.
As the final conversation ends, Merfeld’s shakes the hand of the supposed killer, who wishes her luck.
“Thank you. Good luck to you, too,” she says with a smile just before exiting the vehicle.
Merfeld was arrested shortly afterward and has been lodged in the Muskegon County Jail ever since.
She pleaded guilty to solicitation to murder on June 27. However, her husband and intended victim asked that she get no jail time at all, according to MLive.
Instead, Chief Muskegon County Circuit Judge William C. Marietti committed to cap her minimum sentence at six years. The maximum can be anything up to life in prison, depending on Marietti’s decision at Merfeld’s sentencing July 30.

MWC Police kill kidnapper on video at Walmart in MIDWEST CITY, OK
Posted on 06:32 by Unknown
MIDWEST CITY, OK — A dramatic shooting is caught on camera. The incident took place last week in Midwest City.
A suspect held a two-year-old child hostage inside a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market. On Friday the Midwest City police department released video of the deadly encounter.
Walking across Midwest Boulevard, Sammie Wallace grabs a shopping cart and walks inside the store. After a few minutes, Wallace snagged the two-year-old girl from a shopping cart for no apparent reason.
"He abducts the child and hands the cell phone to the mother and demands she make a call to a Dallas police officer," said Midwest City police chief Brandon Clabes.
During the 30 minute standoff that ensued, police say Wallace made a number of odd statements and appeared to suffer from mental illness.
"He talked about being the richest man in the world and being able to get a Dallas officer there in 10 minutes," said Clabes.
Chief Clabes says during the entire incident the suspect held a knife to the child's body. Eventually officers offered Wallace a chair to sit and evacuated the store.
After Wallace began a 60-second countdown and moved the knife from the child's stomach to her throat, Captain David Huff walked up and shot the suspect point blank in the head.
"I mean we waited until the last second to use deadly force," said Clabes. "No one wants to take a life, especially in the line of duty."
The child did not suffer any injuries.
The district attorney previously sent out a letter calling the officers actions justified. Captain Huff is currently on vacation but will return to duty soon.
Friday Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes showed the knife, surveillance video and played the 911 tapes from the incident.

FIAT Commercial 2014 -The Italians are coming. Not the British!

Freedom to move and room to evolve. Introducing our 5-door offering from FIAT USA. A combination of standout Italian design and exceptional, everyday functionality make the FIAT 500L an inspiring addition to the FIAT 500 family.
Recently we saw Audi take Mercedes-Benz head on with the Vulcan grip commercial which I thought was hysterical.
Now Fiat is throwing down the gauntlet in front of MINI in a soon to be released commercial that you get to see here first.
MINI started out as a British car company and is produced in England. So it's really funny when we see Paul Revere riding through the streets of America warning the Americans that the British were coming. We see a group of redcoats, or what Revere thinks are redcoats, using all the horsepower they could muster, leaving a trail of dust behind them.
The Americans are bored, not interested, they go about their business. Revere realizes he has made a mistake and starts the warning over, "the Italians are coming, the Italians are coming".
That's when the fun begins. Watch the commercial and be amused as things take a twist

Student Guide dog saves trainers from out of control car.
Posted on 16:08 by Unknown
A guide dog-in-training earned his stripes Monday morning when he alerted his handler and a fellow trainer to an out-of-control car seconds before it barreled into them.
Todd Jurek, a training supervisor for Guide Dogs For The Blind, was accompanying O'Neill, an 18-month-old labrador, and apprentice instructor Danielle Alvarado, who was blindfolded, on a field test in San Rafael, Calif., when a black car nearly backed into them, the Marin Independent Journal reports. Security cameras show O'Neill spotting the vehicle, and the group immediately running for safety. He [the dog] reacted probably two seconds before I did," Jurek told KTVU. "He turned around saw it, then I turned around saw it. "The worst could have happened ... It's pretty incredible nobody got hurt," he said.
According to the Journal, the driver was a 93-year-old woman and the DMV is investigating her driver's license.
O'Neill is in the process of completing his testing and will be paired with a blind client in two to three weeks.

According to the Journal, the driver was a 93-year-old woman and the DMV is investigating her driver's license.
O'Neill is in the process of completing his testing and will be paired with a blind client in two to three weeks.

Warning: Disturbing Video: Argentinian footballer throws dog off field by his neck

VIDEO: Soccer player throws dog by its neck off the field, gets red carded for animal abuse
Jose Jimenez, a forward for Tucuman League team Bella Vista, shocked fellow players and fans alike when he grabbed a stray dog that had wandered onto the field and tried to toss it by the neck into the stands. The poor pooch hit the top of the metal fence that ringed the field and came crashing back to the ground.
Video showed the dog get up apparently unharmed, but Jimenez's problems were just beginning.
Outraged fans started hurling garbage and insults at Jimenez, who was also chased into the Bella Vista bench by players of opposing team San Juan. Looking to avoid an all-out brawl, the referee kicked Jimenez out of the game with a red card.
Once the game ended in a 2-1 win for San Juan, Jimenez blamed the match official for his actions.
"The referee made me nervous," Jimenez told Argentina's Ole sports newspaper before further digging a hole for himself.
"I wasn't trying to hurt the dog, I just wanted to remove it because the (San Juan) fans sent it onto the field to waste time."
Unfortunately for Jimenez, his half-hearted apology fell on deaf ears and Bella Vista cut him from the squad.

NASCAR driver Jason Leffler's dies in NJ crash
Posted on 04:34 by Unknown
The 37-year-old Leffler, a two-time winner on the NASCAR Nationwide Series who had the nickname "LefTurn" above the driver's side window on his race cars, was pronounced dead shortly after 9 p.m., New Jersey State Police said.
"NASCAR extends its thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies to the family of Jason Leffler who passed away earlier this evening," NASCAR said in a statement. "For more than a decade, Jason was a fierce competitor in our sport and he will be missed."
Bridgeport Speedway immediately suspended racing for the rest of the night after Leffler's accident at the 0.625-mile, high-banked dirt oval.
After losing his NASCAR ride, Leffler had been racing dirt car events most of this year, including the 410 Sprint Car race Wednesday that promised a $7,000 prize to the winner. On Sunday, Leffler finished last at Pocono in his lone NASCAR Sprint Cup start of the year. He ran just eight laps in a start-and-park ride.
From Long Beach, Calif., Leffler made 423 starts in NASCAR's three national series, but won just the two Nationwide races and one Truck Series event in a career that began in 1999. He also made three IndyCar Series starts, finishing 17th in the 2000 Indianapolis 500.
A statement from Indianapolis Motor Speedway called Leffler "one of the most versatile race drivers in America, showing his talent by competing in the Indianapolis 500 and the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during his career."
"He also displayed the skills that would help him reach the top levels of the sport by winning four USAC national series titles while winning on tracks throughout the Midwest," the statement said.
Leffler's last full NASCAR season was 2011, when he ran the entire Nationwide schedule for Turner Motorsports. He finished sixth in the standings that season and hadn't had a steady NASCAR ride since.
Although he never made it at the NASCAR Sprint Cup level, Leffler ran almost the entire 2001 season for Chip Ganassi Racing and ran 19 races in 2005 for Joe Gibbs Racing in the car now driven by Denny Hamlin.
Leffler is survived by 5-year-old son Charlie Dean.
"Really sad for Jason Leffler and his family," NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Brad Keselowski said on Twitter. "Thinking about his little boy."
Leffler won three consecutive USAC Midget championships from 1997-99 before following mentor Tony Stewart's path into NASCAR. Stewart-Haas Racing, owned by Stewart, tweeted: "Thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of Jason Leffler. A good man; a good racer. Godspeed friend."
Leffler originally signed with Joe Gibbs Racing, the same team Stewart drove for at the time, and ran the 2000 Nationwide season for JGR. He grabbed four top 10s as a rookie, and moved to Cup the next year with Ganassi in a deal that lasted only one season.
IndyCar driver Justin Wilson tweeted: "Another reminder of how this sport we love can be so cruel. Thoughts with his family." Wilson included the hashtag "LEFturn."
NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer also included the hashtag "LEFturn" in a tweet, saying: "So sad to hear about Jason Leffler. Was a wheel man and a fun fun person to be around."
Many drivers also mentioned Charlie Dean in their tweets. A single father, Leffler was devoted to his son and his Instagram account was full of photos of the two spending time together, including many at race tracks.
"Praying for all of Jason Leffler family, especially his little guy Charlie," tweeted IndyCar driver Ed Carpenter.
A little over two weeks ago, 22-year-old driver Josh Burton died of injuries sustained in a crash at Bloomington Speedway in Indiana. In late May at a dirt track in Nevada, two drivers were killed in a race. In March in California, two people were killed when a car careened off a dirt track and crashed on pit road.
Sprint car races can be more dangerous for drivers and spectators because the safety measures taken by series aren't at the same level. Many facilities lack the SAFER barriers that are standard in NASCAR and IndyCar, and the cars aren't always adequately protected.

Watch Pamela Anderson banned TV commercial. Thoughts?

ABC News Story attached
Jun 7, 2013 6:00am
Pamela Anderson is no stranger to pushing boundaries, but this time, according to some, she has gone too far.A risque commercial featuring the actress, 45, has been banned in Britain for being “sexist and degrading to women,” according to The Guardian newspaper.
The ad, which originally aired in 2010 in Australia, promotes the Web hosting service CrazyDomains. In it, a man fantasizes about his boss, played by the former “Baywatch” star, writhing in a bikini and pressing up against her scantily clad female assistant.
The Advertising Standards Authority reportedly received complaints that the ad was offensive, and ultimately banned it in Britain because it “was likely to cause serious offense to some viewers.”
However, the paper added that Clearcast, a company that vets commercials before they air, defended its decision to allow it to run after 9 p.m. The organization had no problem with the innuendo because Anderson is “a celebrity who was known for flaunting her body” and that she was meant to be “the head of business.” As a result, it is “anything but degrading to women.”
A rep for Anderson could not be reached for comment.

Michael Douglas Cancer HPV says oral sex caused his throat cancer. Not smoking!
Posted on 17:03 by Unknown
In a surprisingly frank interview with the Guardian newspaper, actor Michael Douglas says that the throat cancer he was diagnosed with three years ago was caused by oral sex.
When asked by the Guardian if he regretted the years of smoking and drinking thought to be associated with his illness, the actor replied, "No. Because without wanting to get too specific, this particular cancer is caused by HPV [human papillomavirus], which actually comes about from cunnilingus."
Douglas, 68, went on to say in Sunday's story that he "did worry if the stress caused by my son's incarceration didn't help trigger it. But yeah, it's a sexually transmitted disease that causes cancer. And if you have it, cunnilingus is also the best cure for it." Douglas has been married to actress Catherine Zeta-Jones since 2000.
A 2011 study detailed in the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and covered here by NBC News, showed that a cancer spike, mainly in men, was tied to HPV from oral sex.

Douglas announced in August 2010 that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer, the most advanced stage, after numerous specialists failed to identify the source of his oral discomfort. A doctor in Montreal finally discovered a walnut-sized tumor at the base of the actor's tongue.
On Aug. 31, 2010, Douglas spoke with David Letterman on the "Late Show" after completing his first week of radiation and chemotherapy. He was blunt about his diagnosis, but hopeful about his chances for recovery.
"Did they find it early enough for their liking," Letterman asked, regarding the actor's doctors. "I sure as s--- hope so," Douglas said to applause. He has now been cancer-free for two years.
Douglas can currently be seen in the HBO biopic "Behind the Candelabra," in which he stars as famed entertainer Liberace.

This is crazy video from Brandon Sullivan and crew. Watch them driving away from the Tornado! It's crazy!! 5/31/2013 CLOSE RANGE Union City, Oklahoma Tornado.
Brett and Brandon got extremely close to a violent tornadic circulation that produced multiple tornadoes in very close range... The team was hit by inflow jet winds into the tornado and their vehicle received damage as a barn was completely destroyed. A hay bale came barreling across the road and was tossed into their car.. The team is very fortunate to live to chase another day... Incredible storm chaser traffic prevented an escape from the tornado like normal.. There have been fatalities with this tornado.. The team's thoughts go out to those affected!
